Welcome to The City of Darlington!

Check out what’s going on in our city!

S. Main Street Closure

To Begin: March 27, 2023 during hours of 7 PM - 5 AM

A City of Darlington sewer line collapsed at the 300 block of South Main Street and repairs are scheduled to begin on March 27.

During this time South Main Street will be closed from 7:00 pm – 5:00 am as well as a daily lane shift on South Main Street at Lee Street.
A detour will be in place during the road closure hours and follows Chestnut Street to Washington Street to West Broad Street back to South Main Street.

According to Darlington City Manager John Payne, “This 12” sewer line is approximately 80 years old and has outlived its useful life. This collapse is a traffic and public health emergency that we are restoring as quickly as possible. We apologize to the public for the inconvenience and are working diligently to quickly make all necessary repairs.”
