Darlington County School District returns to class on Monday, August 9, 2021!!
Check out these local events to help prepare your students for a new school year.
2021 TAX FREE WEEKEND
You can purchase computers, clothes, school supplies, and a variety of other items free of Sales Tax during South Carolina’s annual 72-hour Sales Tax Holiday. The 2021 Tax Free Weekend takes place Friday, August 6, through Sunday, August 8, 2021.
The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) reminds shoppers that eligible items can be purchased online and in-store without paying the state’s 6% Sales Tax and any applicable local taxes during South Carolina’s Tax Free Weekend.”

Genesis Healthcare and the Housing Authority of Darlington will hold a Back to School Give Away of supplies for children in grades 3K, while supplies last!

BACK TO SCHOOL RESOURCE FAIR – AUGUST 7, 2021
Purpose To Live Ministries will host a Back To School Resource Fair at the church on Public Square in Darlington. Program includes school supply giveaway, health screenings and vaccines administered by CareSouth Carolina and Genesis Healthcare, food boxes from Harvest Hope, and registration for parenting resources. Masks are required for service.
