City of Darlington Awarded $957,000 SC RIA Grant for Woodcreek Pump Station Upgrade
DARLINGTON, S.C. (Jan. 5, 2026) – The City of Darlington has been awarded a $957,000 grant from the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) for the Woodcreek Pump Station Upgrade project.
The project will eliminate the pump station located on Country Club Road in the Darlington Country Club and will gravity flow to the Woodcreek pump station and renovate the station at the same time. This effort will better serve the residents who live within the Darlington Country Club by utilizing newer technology and streamlining service in the area.
“This project has been on the City’s radar for quite some time now,” said City of Darlington Public Utilities Director, Michael Morris. “The City is very thankful to receive this grant funding. It will be impactful to the residents in the Darlington Country Club, and it will enhance the service in the area.”
This allotment that the City of Darlington is receiving is part of a larger $23 million investment by SC RIA to upgrade capital improvement in the state.
Construction is expected to begin in 2026.
