City of Darlington Presents Bishop Kendall Fleetwood with Key to the City

DARLINGTON, S.C. (Nov. 21, 2024) – The City of Darlington recently presented the Key to the City to Bishop Kendall Fleetwood for his community leadership and for founding the Victory Tabernacle Bible Training Center in Darlington.

On behalf of Mayor Curtis Boyd and Darlington City Council, Councilwoman Elaine Reed presented Bishop Fleetwood with the Key to the City during a service that celebrated his 60th birthday. Victory Tabernacle Bible Training Center took a brief break from worship to celebrate the Key to the City presentation.

“Bishop Fleetwood is an inspiration to all,” Councilwoman Reed said. “Through his ministry, he has impacted countless lives here in the City of Darlington. His devotion and dedication strengthens Darlington and builds upon the City’s efforts to bring everyone together in the community. His contributions have not only served Darlington, but he has also made an impact around the nation and the world.”

Bishop Fleetwood was born in Paterson, New Jersey, but he moved to the Pee Dee region to take care of his grandmother when he was 15-years-old. After working in the finance sector for 28 years, Bishop Fleetwood retired and began to devote his time to ministry.

In April 1999, Bishop Fleetwood founded the Victory Tabernacle Bible Training Center in a storefront located on Exchange St.; however, it was later relocated to its current location at 300 E. Hampton St. Bishop Fleetwood has recently purchased land in Darlington for expansion.

Known as “The Great Encourager”, Bishop Fleetwood is known for his great devotion and dedication to his congregation and to the community. Victory Tabernacle Bible Training Center focuses on sharing the Word of God through traditional fellowship, brotherhood, help ministry, singles fellowship and by teaching women of all ages to be strong, Christian leaders.

In addition to the church on E. Hampton St., Bishop Fleetwood also founded the Alliance of Christian Ministries (ACM) in April 2023. The ACM was established to help hurting pastors and ministries of all kinds. The ACM is intended to provide guidance and wisdom to churches.

Bishop Fleetwood has been married to his wife, Pastor Joyce Fleetwood for 39 years. They have two sons, Kendall Jawan (Arnecia) and Joshua Fleetwood. He also has two grandchildren, Kendall Jr. and Kendaesia Fleetwood. Bishop Fleetwood is a survivor of thyroid cancer and a stroke. He never let this get in the way of his love for his family, community or ministry.
