CITY OF DARLINGTON FALL EVENTS

The City of Darlington has a lot of happening for fall!

SCARE ON THE SQUARE

FALL EVENTSUPDATE: Due to the rainy forecast, the Scare on the Square has been rescheduled to FRIDAY, Oct. 29, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Darlington Area Recreation Department and the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association (DDRA) will offer children a downtown Trick-or-Treat experience at the 2021 Scare on the Square from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, October 28, at the Public Square in Darlington.

Employees of area businesses will be handing out treats to costumed children, and some will be dressed in costumes themselves. The free event provides a safe environment for children to trick-or-treat as well as giving businesses an opportunity to show their community support and open their doors to new potential customers.

The Public Square will be closed to traffic beginning at 4 o’clock for the safety of the children. If a church, civic club, or business wants to participate, call 843-398-4000 or 843-398-4030. You also may email info@buildupdarlington.org.

The annual DDRA Business Costume Contest will be held during the Scare on the Square as well as on Friday, October 29. Businesses should call Lisa Rock at 843-992-1561 to be included in the contest.

Fall decorations have been put around the Square thanks to the City Beautification Board and the Darlington Garden Club. The air might not be cool enough to think about autumn and pumpkin spice, but the cascade of activities for fall are here!
