Darlington Police Department to Host 1st Annual Winter Care Compassion Giveaway, Feb. 7
DARLINGTON, S.C. (Jan. 20, 2026) – The Darlington Police Department will host the 1st Annual Winter Care Compassion Giveaway on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Pine Recreation Center, located at 310 Jessamine St.
The goal of this event is to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community through partnerships, service and compassion. Care packages and a to–go spaghetti lunch will be available for all attendees while supplies lasts.
“The winter months can be challenging in Darlington, so we wanted to host an event that can help alleviate some of those challenges,” said Darlington Police Chief, Jimmy Davis. “The community can join us at the Pine Recreation Center on February 7 to get a hot meal and supplies that will help them weather the cold temperatures.”
The Winter Care Compassion Giveaway is sponsored by the Darlington Police Department and co-sponsored by Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Federated Organization of Darlington, Inc.
The Darlington Police Department most recently hosted a successful Toy Giveaway in December, where hundreds of children took home toys that were donated by CSX.
