The City of Darlington recently received a $124,764.02 FEMA grant for the damage Tropical Storm Idalia left behind during the 2023 hurricane season.

Request of Bids – Asbestos Abatement Project

The City of Darlington is accepting sealed bids for an asbestos abatement project for the property located at 1201 S. Main St. Bid submissions are due November 1, 2023.

SC-34 Bridge Repair

The SC DOT will be performing repairs to the SC-34 Bridge over Swift Creek. The repairs can only be completed without traffic loads. The bridge will be closed during the repair. Traffic will be detoured along the route: Pocket Road, S. Charleston Road, E. McIver Road, & S. Main Street. Repairs are scheduled to start October 9th & take 3 months to complete.

SEWER LINE REPAIR: On Monday, July 15, N. Ervin St. will be closed at the Cashua St. entrance due to a sewer line repair. To access N. Ervin St., you will need to enter through the Spring St. entrance. Repair time is unknown until crews are able to break ground.
