Williamson Park Committee to Host BBQ & Bog Benefit, Oct. 18
The Williamson Park Committee will host its annual BBQ & Bog Benefit on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 6 – 9 p.m. in Williamson Park.
The event will take place at the mid-park picnic area. Attendees will enjoy a night of delicious Darlington County cuisine, live entertainment, and fellowship — all while contributing to the future of this beloved local green space. The committee’s goal is to ensure the park remains accessible and enjoyable for everyone, with upgrades planned to enhance usability and increase visitor engagement.
Tickets are available for a small donation and can be obtained by contacting Williamson Park Committee member Stephen Carroll at sp3carroll@gmail.com or Park Manager Al Britt at pwrhowz@gmail.com. You can also reach out to any Park Committee member for more information.
Williamson Park is a 70+ acre woodland reserve in the City of Darlington adjacent to Swift Creek, east of Spring Street and north of Williamson Park Drive. The purpose of Williamson Park is to be a woodland reserve for native plants and wildlife, for the enjoyment and education of all.
The Williamson Park Committee was initially established to redevelop the swampland so that its botanical paradise could be enjoyed by all. The Committee meets today to increase awareness and appreciation of this natural setting.
